The staff and veterinarian at Maine Coast Vet Hospital in Blue Hill helped to make my Scottish Terrier dog's experience very positive. I acquired him from an out-of-state breeder whose vet & staff left him shaking in fright from insensitive treatment. Dr. McMonagle and her staff at MCVH proved to be just the opposite and worked with me to help my dog overcome his "white coat" anxiety. This group has always earned my respect as I've had several pets treated routinely here over the years, and always in a "pawsitive" way.

I wanna start this by thanking graham and dr McGill for the wonderful and compassionate care Prezley got from the 2 of you.... AVOID DR LUCK LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!!! So this past week we had to put our dear eight year-old Presley down due to a rapid growing brain tumor. This was a horrific experience to go through and all because Dr. luck decided to miss Judge Our intentions before even talking to us, she had an issue coming through the door of the exam room, and she made that blatantly obvious to my husband and myself. After the previous 24 hours of our dog, seizing uncontrollably all night, we took her there on Tuesday saw Dr. luck who like I said, misjudged our intentions on why we were there even after we explained to her like yes we need to do the labs to find out if this is something that is treatable and unfortunately, because we are not millionaires and can't afford every lab test out there to be done Dr. luck made us out to be awful pet parents . and when it came to Thursday and actually putting Presley to sleep, I had a hard time telling Dr. McGill that it was time because I didn't want to be unfairly judged by the staff in her practice after what doctor luck had gone around and told them two days prior . I was worried that the rest of her staff and veterinarians on Dr. Mcgils staff would think that I hadn't done enough to try to save Presley yet even though we had already spent over $750 that was in the back of my mind when I should've been focusing on Presley's quality of life instead I was scared to make a decision and think I would be labeled as a Bad pet parent where we have another dog who currently goes to this practice as well. I was worried that his Care would be jeopardized in the future, especially if the whole veterinary staff thought I jumped the gun on putting Presley to sleep. Dr. Mcgil had to take her vet cap off and put her pet parent cap on to assure me that this wasn't fair to Presley and that it was time to make a decision. And instead of feeling secure with that decision, I'm still questioning. Could something else have been done to help her and on the other side where she was seizing uncontrollably and no medication's were helping is it fair to keep going for Presley's quality of life?. Luck told the staff as well as the chief veterinarian of this practice that we just wanted to put down a healthy looking dog like I said mind you the past 24 hours she had been seizing uncontrollably . Dr. Luck also I feel was super inappropriate to be pumping breastmilk during an exam which could've gone horribly wrong. Had my dog bumped those and knocked those off her chest. She would've lost all of her babies food. But my biggest issue is the defamatory statements that Dr. luck made against my husband and I to the other staff members and the other veterinarians. Our dog suffered for three days having more than five seizures a day we were giving her rescue meds that thankfully Dr. McGill gave us that Dr. luck should've given us Tuesday but instead she sent us home with no information on what a seizure looks like what we should be doing nothing. She was super unprofessional from the very beginning if I was anybody coming to this practice, I would make sure to avoid Dr. luck at all cost unless you want your animal to suffer in their final days because she doesn't wanna listen to the pet parents and just wants to make bad assumptions.I will be reporting Dr. luck to the veterinary board and how she made my pet suffer for days having seizures and how she didn't do her job. So just a tip I've met with the other vets in the practice and they are wonderful. just saying raisa this is far from over and u will pay like how u made Prezley suffer....I will make 100% sure u can never practice as a vet ever again in Maine! And u OWE us the BIGGEST APOLOGY ever for the way u treated us and our precious puppy it's the LEAST you could do and mean it. YOU can't defame ppl and expect them to be ok with it! I hope your malpractice insurance is up to date!
