Once they found out my dog had cancer, they cancelled her appointment that she had and said they can’t do anything for her, I had to take everything upon myself to find PVESC in Portland and they performed a life saving surgery that got her another almost 5 fantastic months, if I would’ve gotten her on the cancer meds like I had planned at that appointment, maybe she’d still be here.. I had called them before she passed to see if they could have her put down and, I understand getting busy and being one of the only vets in the area, but 2 and a half to 3 weeks notice in order to have them put down, that was completely unacceptable. I work in the nursing field and we don’t even see people passing that frequently so yeah, I’m not saying don’t go here, I’m just putting it out there that you want to always have a backup plan. And to relieve them of so too much business, traveling to another vet for things other than routine is good and there is an ER in Brewer and one opening in Mars Hill soon unless it’s open already

We have been happy with North Country Animal Hospital for our furkids!! Dr Dick is just so awesome and personable. Our furry family loves her... She really is the definition of an animal lover. Glad to have her as our vet Dr Brown is fantastic as well, she shows kindness and empathy during difficult times.
