Back on October 28th 2025 I walked into my home after work to find my recently adopted Labrador Retriever, Maggie, in distress. She wouldn’t respond to me, couldn’t get up and was breathing heavily. I carried her to the car and traveled over Streaked Mountain to the only place I hoped and prayed could save my dog after 4 pm. A place that’s been there since I was a kid and my Grammy used to bring her pets there way back in the 90s. Oxford Hills Veterinary Hospital took us in right away under emergency services. I had called on the way, in obvious distress myself and was met with a calm and comforting voice. They met us at the door with equal calm and patience and while we sat in a private room and waited, we got frequent updates from a wonderful, informative doctor. I’m so sorry that by now I can’t remember all their names. But every single person that day helped my family and I in each of their roles and also saved my dog’s life. I am forever grateful that they saved her. I was also very surprised at the cost, because even at emergency level, I considered the cost VERY reasonable with everything that they did. THANK YOU so much Oxford Hills Veterinary Hospital!

Dr. Kate is amazing. Compassionate, kind and so gentle with the patients. Her honesty is refreshing and so appreciated. I most highly recommend her.
