I can't recommend this veterinary office to anyone as the reception staff made the entire experience incredibly uncomfortable. I will definitely be using another veterinary clinic. While the veterinarians themselves were informative, passionate and genuinely wonderful to interact with, my experience with the front desk staff unfortunately overshadowed the quality of care provided by the vets.
To begin with, I was told that I had been contacted regarding my appointment being canceled, but I arrived at the office completely unaware of any cancellation. Despite being the person who scheduled the appointment, the office contacted my mother-in-law instead. She has not brought our pets to the office in quite some time and had already given permission for my wife and me to handle all future veterinary care multiple times. The receptionist claimed a voicemail had been left, but no voicemail was ever received. Additionally, despite multiple updates to contact information, the office still appeared to have incorrect information on file.
When scheduling the appointment, I specifically asked whether having my cat still listed under my mother-in-lawβs name would cause any issues, and I was assured it would not. Upon arriving at the office, however, I was loudly misgendered by the receptionist after already introducing myself. No apology was offered, and the mistake even seemed to be treated humorously. Another employee then approached without introducing herself and repeatedly interrupted me to restate information I had already been told. Both employees were dismissive, rude, and offered no apology or assistance.
The receptionist continued insisting that a message had been left, despite no voicemail ever being received and no evidence that our landline had rung. Because of this, I have serious concerns about the honesty and reliability of the communication provided by the front office staff.
When my wife and I later returned to the office, the atmosphere remained extremely uncomfortable. My wife, who had not been present during the earlier interaction, immediately noticed how awkward and unprofessional the front desk interaction felt. During this visit, I asked about getting my cat microchipped, only to be told by the veterinarian that there was no mention of this in the appointment notes. This was especially frustrating because I had specifically discussed the microchip in detail when scheduling the appointment and explicitly requested that it be added to the notes.
My biggest concern moving forward is communication and trust. I no longer feel confident that important information would be properly relayed between the front office staff, myself, and the veterinarians. My petsβ wellbeing is my highest priority, and my cat was put through unnecessary stress because of this experience.
This situation is particularly disappointing because the veterinarians themselves are excellent, and I genuinely appreciated their care and expertise. However, due to the conduct, lack of professionalism, and poor communication from the front desk staff, I will not be returning. I sincerely hope the office takes communication, professionalism, and client concerns more seriously in the future.
